Boxing project in Marabaixo 4 receives sporting goods to promote sport and health – News of Brazil

This Thursday (1), the Municipal Secretariat for Sports and Leisure (Semel) delivered materials for the Heróis da Fé boxing project, in the neighborhood of Marabaixo 4. The materials delivered (such as boxing gloves, fast gauntlets, and bandages) will benefit the 30 participating students, aged between 12 and 17, who attend the boxing classes offered by the project.
The delivery is part of Semel’s “Sports and Health for All” program, which aims to encourage children and young people to practice sports in the municipality. This initiative is the result of a partnership between Semel, the federal deputy Acácio Favacho’s amendment and the Municipal Treasury’s counterpart, and reinforces the commitment to promoting sport as a tool for social transformation.
Claudia Assunção, a 50-year-old housewife and resident of Marabaixo 2, says that her 14-year-old daughter Jolie has been participating in this project for a year. She says that sport has an impact on her daughter’s development and sees Semel’s initiative as a driving force behind the sport.
“Sport has made a huge difference in her life, helping her to develop discipline, self-confidence and health. With this material delivered by Semel, my daughter can practice boxing properly and grow in the sport”, she says.
The initiative seeks to provide comfort and safety during sports activities, and generate sports development for the young people involved.
The municipality’s sports and leisure secretary, Bruno Igreja, emphasized the importance of the project by pointing out that “investing in sports and leisure is essential to promote social inclusion and the integral development of young people. We are committed to providing opportunities for everyone to have access to quality sporting activities.”
The “Sports and Health for All” project includes not only boxing, but several sports, being carried out in the Arts Centers in the South and North zones, in addition to municipal schools and social projects.
