The bestseller written by Dora Kramer, journalist and columnist for Sheetabout the life of Fernando Collor de Mello became a GloboPlay documentary, available to subscribers as of this Tuesday (25).

Published in podcast format, Collor versus Collor starts from recordings of interviews that Kramer made with Pedro Collor de Mello, brother and main whistleblower of the ex-president, to write the book “Passando a Limpo – A trajectory de um Farsante”, best seller released in 1993.

The podcast tells the story of the Collor family from the brothers’ childhood and sets out to outline the reasons for the family split. The work, by Globoplay in co-production with Rádio Novelo, is presented by journalist Évelin Argenta and has Dora Kramer as a consultant.

Collor was elected president of Brazil in 1989, in the first direct election to the post after the military dictatorship (1964-1985). In 1992, he was impeached over a corruption scandal that became public after an interview his brother, Pedro Collor, gave to Veja magazine.

The former president had his political rights suspended for 8 years, during which time he was ineligible. After that, he took office in 2007 as senator for Alagoas for the PTB. In the 2022 elections, Collor came third in the race for governor of the state and lost the seat.

Kramer graduated in journalism in 1977 at Faculdade Cásper Líbero. She has passages in vehicles such as Jornal do Brasil, O Estado de S. Paulo and Veja magazine. Currently, the journalist also works at Jovem Pan.

Kramer’s column in the newspaper talks about the national situation and important facts that may interfere in the country’s politics. His texts appear every Tuesday and Saturday on page A2 of the printed edition of Sheet. Online, they are available a day in advance.
