Friend and adviser of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) during his period in the Presidency, Navy Admiral Flávio Augusto Viana Rocha appears saluting President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in a video posted by the official account of the federal government this Wednesday ( 12).
The video shows the petista greeting Navy officers during the award ceremony of the Order of Naval Merit, in Brasília. Rocha, the second to be greeted, says his name, introduces himself as naval secretary for nuclear safety and salutes.
In March, Rocha was appointed to the position of adviser to the commander of the Navy, Marcos Sampaio Olsen.
Known as the ‘shadow’ of the former president, Rocha has known Bolsonaro since the period in which he served as a parliamentary advisor to the Navy in Congress, between 2002 and 2006.
In government, he worked as Special Secretary for Strategic Affairs. The admiral was one of those chosen by Bolsonaro to be at his side during his speech two days after being defeated by Lula, in November last year.
Sought by the Panel, he did not comment on the meeting with the current president.
