The defense of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) stated upon arriving at the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) that he already admits to appealing to the STF (Federal Supreme Court) if he is defeated in the trial that could make the former president ineligible.
Lawyer Tarcísio Vieira de Carvalho understands that there was a curtailment of the defense of the former representative due to the fact that the rapporteur, Minister Benedito Gonçalves, included in the process evidence that he had no opportunity to express about and that are unrelated to the initial object of the action.
The lawyer mentions the judgment that annulled the ticket of Dilma Rousseff (PT) and Michel Temer (MDB), in 2017, when the court did not admit the inclusion of elements that were not in the file since the beginning of the process. Now, however, the electoral court has already approved the insertion of facts that were not in the action presented by the PDT.
The party, which is now part of President Lula’s (PT) base, asked for Bolsonaro’s political rights to be withdrawn because he had summoned ambassadors from around the world to discredit, without evidence, the Brazilian electoral system.
On the occasion, he also made attacks on ministers of the electoral court.
The TSE, however, approved the inclusion of the draft of the coup found in the house of former Minister of Justice Anderson Torres, revealed by Sheet and other evidence not mentioned in the Labor party’s complaint.
