Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) criticized again this Wednesday (21) the investigations he is the subject of and said that the act he called for next Sunday (25) will have few speeches.
“We can’t continue living here in that impasse. ‘Ah, Bolsonaro is going to be arrested tomorrow. He could be arrested at any time’. What crime did I commit?”, he said. The former president gave an interview to Esmael Morais, who presents himself as a left-wing blogger.
Regarding Sunday’s demonstration, Bolsonaro stated in the interview that it will be a peaceful act and asking for respect for the Constitution.
He also said that few people should speak at the event. “Miss Michelle [Bolsonaro] saying a prayer. It would be Governor Tarcísio [de Freitas], Pastor Silas Malafaia himself and me. At first only these people will speak. What is the message there? In defense of the democratic rule of law, our freedom and a portrait for Brazil and images for the world of what we, in green and yellow, want: God, country, family and freedom.”
Bolsonaro also said that he will not answer questions this Thursday (22) in a statement marked with the approval of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), because his lawyers have not yet had access to the files of the investigation into the coup.
“Through the legal process, I have to know what I’m being accused of. I have to have access to the process.”
In the interview, he said he was the victim of “immense persecution” by the Lula government and “other sectors”.
“During the transition, no one complained. A peaceful transition was made. On the penultimate day, I left for the United States. I decided not to pass the belt, it’s my right. It’s not because [João] Figueiredo did not pass the lane to [José] Sarney back there. It’s my right. I don’t have to do that.”
