Expected to arrive in Brazil this Thursday morning (30), former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) faces a series of investigations and actions in court that could make him ineligible or even accused in criminal proceedings.

In the STF (Federal Supreme Court) alone, six investigations investigate Bolsonaro’s conduct that may constitute crimes. In addition, there are 16 other actions in the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) that can make you ineligible.

There are also more than a dozen requests for an investigation against Bolsonaro that were sent by Supreme Court ministers to the first instance of Justice, due to the loss of the special forum with his departure from the Presidency. These requests began to be sent by ministers on February 10th.

Bolsonaro may still be investigated in the Saudi Arabia jewelry case. This Wednesday (29), he and his former aide-de-camp, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, were summoned by the Federal Police to testify on April 5 — for the time being, as a witness.

The former president stayed for three months in the United States, where he traveled on the eve of the inauguration of his successor in the Planalto Palace, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

Bolsonaro is investigated at the Federal Supreme Court in inquiries that have Minister Alexandre de Moraes as rapporteur.

There are findings related to former presidents in fake news and digital militia surveys, for example. He is also the target of an investigation that investigates the leak of confidential data from the investigation of an alleged attack on the TSE system.

Bolsonaro is still being investigated for alleged interference with the Federal Police, as pointed out by former Minister of Justice Sergio Moro.

An inquiry pending before the Supreme Court also investigates the conduct of the former president in the live in which he falsely stated that vaccination against Covid-19 is linked to the risk of contracting the AIDS virus.

In addition, the former president is investigated in the investigation that investigates the conduct of suspects of inciting and being the masterminds of the attacks on the headquarters of the three Powers, on January 8 of this year.

At the TSE, of the 16 lawsuits being processed against Bolsonaro, two have as their main target attacks on the electoral process and the ballot boxes.

The main one was presented by the PDT and focuses on the meeting with ambassadors held by the then president in July 2022, in which he repeated conspiracy theories about electronic voting machines and promoted coup threats.

Regarding the requests for investigation sent to the first instance, most deal with speeches made by the then president before and during the celebrations of September 7, 2021. They were sent to the first instance of Federal Justice by Minister Cármen Lúcia.

At the time, Bolsonaro made coup threats against the Supreme Court, urged disobedience to court decisions and said that he would only leave the Presidency of the Republic dead.

Bolsonaro was also sent two requests for an investigation on suspicion of racism when he said that a supporter weighed “more than seven arrobas” at the door of the Palácio da Alvorada. These requests were made by deputies from PSOL and PC do B.

Cármen also declined a request for investigation by both the former president and former Minister of Justice Anderson Torres, made by Deputy Alencar Santana (PT-SP) to the first instance.

Minister Luiz Fux, in turn, sent a request to the Electoral Court last month from the Federal Police to initiate an investigation against Bolsonaro on suspicion of the misuse of children and adolescents in his 2022 campaign.

According to that request, which is secret from the Justice, these minors were used in situations that would incite the use of weapons.
