Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) called on his followers to participate in a public event scheduled for the last Sunday of February (25), at 3 pm, on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo, with the purpose of “defending the democratic State of rights”, wearing green and yellow.

He announced that he will lead the demonstration with the purpose of refuting all the accusations he has faced in recent months, especially in the context of the Tempus Veritatis operation, by the Federal Police, authorized by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

Bolsonaro is one of the targets of this newest PF operation launched on Thursday (8) with the aim of investigating an alleged coup d’état attempt, in which the former president would be the mastermind.

Federal agents executed 33 search and seizure warrants, 4 preventive arrest warrants and 48 alternative measures against the former president and his closest supporters, including the president of his party, Valdemar da Costa Neto. The actions are part of the denunciation of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, Bolsonaro’s former aide-de-camp, who would bring evidence of an alleged plot to keep him in the Presidency.

In the video he made wearing a Brazilian team shirt, released on his and his supporters’ social networks, Bolsonaro appealed to his followers, asking them not to take posters or banners “against anyone” to the Avenida Paulista demonstration, fearful of additional retaliations from the STF. Furthermore, he encouraged people to attend using the colors of the Brazilian flag.

At the conclusion of his brief message, the former president expressed his desire to capture a “photograph” during the event to “show Brazil and the world” the unity of the Brazilian people, their concerns and commitment to the values of “God , homeland, family and freedom”. The video was shared by congressmen who support Bolsonaro, amplifying the call for the act.
