Bolsonarista governor gives Michelle’s daughter a position of trust – 04/19/2023 – Politics

The eldest daughter of former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro, Letícia Firmo, won a position of trust in the government of Santa Catarina. Letícia, 20, is Michelle’s fourth relative to be employed by Bolsonarist politicians in 2023.

The governor of SC, Jorginho Mello (PL), signed Letícia’s nomination last Friday (14). She is the new cabinet assistant at the National Articulation Secretariat, which operates in Brasília. The base salary for the position is almost R$ 13 thousand.

Another three of Michelle’s relatives took office this year: a brother is in the government of São Paulo, a sister works in the office of Senator Damares Alves (Republicanos-DF) and the son-in-law, Letícia’s boyfriend, is a driver for Senator Jorge Seif (PL- SC).

The government of SC claims that Letícia is qualified for the position. In a note sent to UOL, the Santa Catarina Executive says that she “will be charged like all employees and will have the same rights as others”.

“The new employee already has experience in the role, which she held for almost two years at ADASA (Regulatory Agency for Water, Energy and Basic Sanitation of the Federal District). She studied law until the second semester and is now in public management”, says the note. .

Michelle’s advisor did not comment until the publication of this text. The report was unable to contact Letícia.

Who are the nominees

• Letícia Marianna Firmo da Silva: daughter of Michelle’s first marriage, Jair Bolsonaro’s stepdaughter had a discreet posture during her stepfather’s government, but has been manifesting herself recently on Instagram. In January, she countered a statement by the current first lady, Janja da Silva, that the Bolsonaro family left the Alvorada Palace in a poor state of repair.
• Igor Matheus Oliveira Modtkowski: Letícia’s boyfriend and Army corporal, Igor was appointed in March as driver for Seif, senator and former Secretary of Fisheries in the Bolsonaro government. Before that, until December 2022, he worked for three years in a secretariat of Bolsonaro’s GSI (Institutional Security Office). In the Senate, Igor (pictured below) will have a salary of almost R$4,000.
• Geovanna Kathleen Ferreira Lima: Geovanna, 24, is Michelle’s sister on her mother’s side. On the 13th, she was appointed parliamentary assistant to Senator Damares, former Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights, and will receive just over R$ 4,000 per month.
• Diego Torres Dourado: Michelle’s brother on his father’s side, Diego has been a “special advisor” to the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), since the beginning of the year, with a base salary of more than R$ 19 thousand. A FAB soldier, Dourado was once an adviser to the Ministry of Defense and to Senator Irajá (PSD-TO), son of former Senator Kátia Abreu.

Relatives hitched a ride on a FAB flight

Letícia, Giovanna and Igor are among Michelle’s relatives who received a ride from Damares Alves, then Minister of the Bolsonaro government, on a FAB (Brazilian Air Force) flight from Brasília to São Paulo, in August 2021.

The justification for the flight was participation in an event of the Pátria Voluntária social program, managed by Michelle. In São Paulo, Michelle and Damares went to the birthday party of makeup artist Agustin Fernandez, a friend of the former first lady.
