Investigation by the Federal Police points out that the head of the vaccination center in Duque de Caxias (RJ), Cláudia Helena da Costa Rodrigues, was the one who removed from the Ministry of Health’s system information that had been added from former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), his daughter Laura, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid and two family members of the former Presidency aide.

She was heard this Wednesday (3) as part of the operation investigating the inclusion of false vaccination data against Covid in the ministry’s system.

Cláudia Helena would have deleted the information from the system on December 27, a few days after it was entered. According to information from the Federal Police, the data were entered so that they were validated and could be used for trips abroad. However, they were later deleted so that the record was not visible in the system.

Sought after, Cláudia Helena’s defense said it will not comment on the case.

Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense, was one of the cities in the state that most accelerated the first stages of vaccination against Covid for not following the order of priorities suggested by the Ministry of Health.

At the time, the mayor of the municipality was Washington Reis (MDB), one of the main allies of the former president. In this Wednesday’s operation, the secretary of government of Caxias, João Carlos Brecha, was arrested.

The former mayor’s brother, federal deputy Gutemberg Reis (MDB-RJ), was also targeted in the PF action. Against him, the police fulfilled a search and seizure warrant at an address of the parliamentarian in Rio. He, however, was in Brasilia.

Lawyers for the city of Caxias said they will not speak out.

When contacted, Cláudia Helena’s lawyer, Gildo Júnior, also said he had access to the case file. He also stated that he will not comment on the case, since it runs in secrecy.

Gutemberg Reis said, in a statement, that he collaborated with the Federal Police and that he is taking note of the details of the investigation. The deputy adds that “he received all doses of the vaccine, encouraged, through social networks, the immunization of the population and made his vaccination card available”.

This Wednesday, the PF carried out the operation that came closest to the former president’s hard core, with the arrest of three of his main assistants, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, Max Guilherme and Sérgio Cordeiro.

Both Max and Cordeiro are even one of eight advisor positions to which Bolsonaro is entitled as a former president of the Republic. The latter was even the one who lent the house to the former representative to perform lives during the election campaign, when he was prohibited from doing them at Palácio da Alvorada.

They also accompanied Bolsonaro on his season in the United States, after losing the election. Max was still by the former president’s side on his first trips through Brazil and on the tours he has been taking in Brasília, such as the military college.

The measures are part of an investigation, says the PF, into an alleged “criminal association formed to commit the crimes of inserting false vaccination data against Covid-19 into the SI-PNI and RNDS systems of the Ministry of Health.”

“The investigation indicates that the group’s objective would be to keep the identity element cohesive in relation to its ideological guidelines, in this case, to support the speech aimed at the attacks on vaccination against Covid-19”, says the PF.

According to the Federal Police, the targets of the investigation would have made the false insertions between November 2021 and December 2022 so that beneficiaries could issue a vaccination certificate to travel to the United States.

The PF also says that the steps are carried out within the investigation of the digital militias, which is being processed by the Federal Supreme Court and whose rapporteur is Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
