Children up to three years of age or disabled people who need to use diapers will be able to receive the input, through the project authored by councilor Dr. Eduardo Assis

Manaus (AM) – The councilor of the Manaus City Council (CMM), Dr. Eduardo Assis (Avante), released a Bill (PL) this Monday (27), which deals with the distribution of disposable diapers to low-income parents. Social promotion will have as one of the criteria the selection of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), providing support to be distributed to parents of children over three years of age.

According to the author of the PL, there are still several families that do not have access to basic hygiene and sanitation facilities, some are without financial resources.

“The majority of these parents who live on the outskirts and in places with high unemployment rates, have more than one child, receive less than one or two minimum wages and still need to bear other expenses and costs generated by children on their own”,

justified.

Still with the councilor’s explanation, children and parents from the outskirts are completely inferior for social, cultural and financial reasons.

“These people should count on the support of public authorities so that they can meet at least the basic needs of each of these people”,

finished.

The project also clarifies that for these parents to receive these inputs they must receive up to two minimum wages (R$ 1,320.00), proof of income provided by presenting supporting documents. Furthermore, children with any type of disability can continue to receive the benefit, as long as they have medical reports proving the need to use diapers after the age of three.
