Manaus (AM) — Starting the month of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), “April Azul” is a period that seeks to promote inclusion and awareness about the autism spectrum. Deputy Cristiano D’Angelo (MDB) presented Bill (PL) No. 148, currently in progress, which proposes changes to Law No. 6,458, of September 22, 2023, which consolidates legislation relating to people with TEA.
The PL will add very important articles for the quality of life of people with ASD, such as: determining which companies that have places with a large flow of people, such as shopping centers, airports, cinemas, theaters, among others, must count on their staff with people trained to deal with possible ASD disorders or crises.
The Project will also include training, given by professionals specialized in the area, defining the disorder, highlighting the characteristics and forms of manifestation of the disorder, as well as communication and interaction techniques with people with autism and techniques for managing autism. behaviors and crises. In addition to legal and regulatory aspects related to the rights of people with ASD and information about the resources and support services available for people with ASD and their families.
“Often, people with Autism Spectrum Disorder are not understood, which makes them suffer prejudice and discrimination. The change in the legislation in question establishes employee training to strengthen and ensure the inclusion of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder”

Training employees to deal with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential for creating inclusive environments in the State, which guarantee adequate care, welcome people with autism and their families and respect their specific needs.
“The change in the Law represents a lot for a society that wants to evolve in the inclusion process and generate a better quality of life for autistic people in our State”, explained the deputy.
Law No. 6,458, of September 22, 2023, consolidates the legislation relating to people with ASD.
