Bhutan and Oman compete for the title of the 59th edition of the Football World Cup Marcílio Dias – News of Brazil

The Arena Orivaldo Turíbio Guimarães, in the Trem neighborhood, will be the stage, this Friday (01), for the final of the Marcílio Dias Football World Cup, which is in its 59th edition. The teams from Bhutan and Oman will compete for the title, starting at 8pm. The Association of Singles and Married People of Bairro do Trem (ASCBT) is holding the competition, in partnership with Macapá City Hall.

The Bhutan team is looking for its second title in the competition and Oman wants its first. The definition of the two finalist teams took place on Tuesday (28), when Bhutan beat the United States 2-1 and Oman prevailed in the penalty shootout against Palau.

In addition to the big and awaited final of the competition, there will be a game between the Association of Singles and Married People of Bairro do Trem (ASCBT) and Macapá City Hall and the final of the Marcílio Dias Sub-11 Cup between G7 and Talentus.

The winning team takes home R$25,000 and a replica of the FIFA World Cup cup. The vice-president wins the amount of R$15 thousand. Everyone will receive medals. In addition, there will be prizes for the outstanding players of the competition.

The competition had the participation of 64 teams and is the largest amateur football in the state played in a public square. 2020 was the last time the competition was played and it was only concluded at the beginning of 2022, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and problems on the pitch. The last champion was Mongolia.
