The minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Luís Roberto Barroso is expected to nominate women for key posts on his team when he assumes the presidency of the Court and of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), which should take place in October.
The federal judge of Rio de Janeiro, Adriana Cruz, should be chosen for the position of general secretary of the CNJ. If confirmed, she will be the first woman and the first black woman to hold the position. The magistrate’s name has also appeared on the list of possible nominees for Rosa Weber’s vacancy in the STF.
For the General Secretariat of the STF, Barroso is expected to invite lawyer Aline Osorio, who has already held the post at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
As for the General Directorate of the STF, the minister’s nominee should be a man: lawyer Eduardo Toledo, who has worked at the Court.
And federal judge Frederico Montedonio should lead the area of projects for the judiciary at the CNJ.
