In the main team Barcelona three years ago, but until last season alternating as Jordi Alba’s reserve, the young Alejandro Balde aged just 19, he reached an agreement with the club and renewed his contract until June 30, 2028 with a fine of 1 billion euros (approximately R$5.2 billion).
Like Lionel Messi, Balde has been at the club since he was a child. He arrived at Barcelona in 2011, when he was just 11 years old and was always considered a child prodigy for his strength in marking and explosiveness in attacking. The full-back has a lot of speed and the club made a point of showing a video of his sprints to celebrate the new agreement.
“Barcelona and player Alejandro Balde have reached an agreement to extend his contract until June 30, 20298. The release clause is set at one billion euros,” Barcelona said in an official statement.
The new contract will be signed this Thursday at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The player will be alongside President Joan Laporta for the new agreement event and will also hold a press conference to explain the negotiation.
Balde made his Barcelona debut in a friendly against Nàstic de Tarragona in the 2020-21 pre-season. In the same year, he played his first game in the Champions League. With Alba’s absence, he played from the start against Bayern Munich. He played little the following year, but established himself once and for all last season and since then has played for the club in 55 matches, 42 as a starter, distributing six assists.
