Association asks Courts of Auditors for simple decisions – 11/11/2023 – Panel

Atricon, the association that brings together the country’s audit courts, issued a note recommending that there be an effort on the part of the advisors of these courts to adopt simple language that is easily accessible to citizens in their decisions.

“Understanding audit reports, opinions, decisions, administrative acts and communications in general is fundamental for citizens to understand the essentiality of the service provided by control bodies, contributing to the guarantee of legitimacy, as well as the exercise of social control” , says the note signed by Cezar Miola, president of the association.

Recommendations for court members include using simple, visual language, as well as instruments such as QR Codes.

There is also guidance for the creation of guides, booklets and glossaries to facilitate access by ordinary citizens to technical terms often used by the courts of accounts.
