Deltan Dallagnol could be Novo’s candidate for Mayor of Curitiba

In an event this Saturday (11) in Curitiba, the New Party confirmed that he will have a candidate for mayor of the capital of Paraná. Among the names listed is that of Deltan Dallagnolformer chief prosecutor of Operation Lava Jato and former federal deputy, recently joined the party.

The announcement that the party will launch a name in the next elections was made by Dallagnol himself during the meeting. “We need to fill city councils and city halls across the country with good people in 2024 so that these people can democratically invade the National Congress in 2026,” he stated.

A People’s Gazette, Deltan Dallagnol said that his name, as well as that of his wife, Fernanda Dallagnol, also a member of the party, are possibilities. And also councilors Amália Tortato and Indiara Barbosa.

Indiara was announced as a pre-candidate for mayor of Curitiba by Novo last June, but the name of who will actually run for the party is still about to be known.

“It’s possible that I leave, just like Indiara, Fernanda and Amália. Or none of those names. We just keep the possibilities open”, says Dallagnol.

“We will keep the doors open. Novo is the champion in voting intentions in the polls. We will seek to evaluate and reflect on the best path.”

Research probes name of Deltan Dallagnol

A survey released at the end of October by Paraná Pesquisas showed that federal deputy and former mayor of Curitiba Luciano Ducci (PSB) leads voters’ preference as a possible new mayor of the capital of Paraná in four of the five scenarios presented by the institute.

Ducci would only lose the dispute in one of the scenarios, precisely if he competed with Dallagnol and with former governor Beto Richa (PSDB) in the competition.

If he is nominated as a candidate, however, Deltan may have his registration judged after the elections, just as happened with his candidacy registration for the position of federal deputy, rejected by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) in May this year.
