Anfavea confirmed this Tuesday (6) that cars made in Mercosur were also included in the price reduction for zero-kilometer models. With that, the Peugeot 208 entered the list of most affordable cars for sale in Brazil.
The model, which was sold for BRL 69,990 in the Like version, is now announced for BRL 62,990. The equipment package includes four airbags, air conditioning, power steering, sound system and electric front windows and door locks.
Although it is assembled in Argentina, most of the parts used in Peugeot are made in Brazil, like the 1.0 flex engine, for example.
With the table revisions, the 208 joins Renault Kwid (R$ 58,990) and Citroën C3 (R$ 62,990) as the cheapest models in Brazil at the moment.
There is expectation about the revision of the table in the Fiat line. Even before the publication of MP 1175, which granted discounts for price, energy efficiency and local production of components, Mobi cost R$ 68,990. It was the same value practiced by the competitor Renault for the Kwid.
The manufacturer also produces a model in Argentina that will benefit from the reduction: the Cronos compact sedan.
