The city of Araraquara (SP) will hold an event this Monday (8) to mark the first anniversary of the coup attacks against Praça dos Três Poderes.
In the municipality, the event has a special symbolism because it was where President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) was at the time of the violent demonstration by the Bolsonarists.
He had gone to show solidarity with local residents after heavy rains caused destruction and deaths.
“We decided to do an act with social movements, even as a gesture of appreciation for the people who were here that day, for us to remember everything that happened and the way the president led the reaction to the coup from Araraquara”, says the mayor Edinho Silva (PT).
The event will be held at the Bank Workers Union headquarters at 7pm.
