The defense of Judge Eduardo Appio, who has been away from the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba since April 22, asked the National Council of Justice (CNJ) this Monday (5) to reinstate him in his functions after an independent report points out that he did not would have been the author of the call that supposedly threatened the judge Marcelo Malucelli, of the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region.

In the document filed with the CNJ, Appio’s defense presents a report signed by the assistant professor of the Phonetics Laboratory of the Department of Languages at the Federal University of São Carlos, Pablo Arantes, in which he considers that the voice of the call points to a zero level of correspondence (see in full).

“The analysis of expert in the area of forensic phonetics is emphatic in the sense that, corroborating its statement, the authorship of the telephone call cannot be attributed to the Petitioner”, says an excerpt from the document.

The defense states that the cell phone devices that would have “performed the alleged dialogues were not even seized or examined”.
