Ana Moser announces inter-ministerial front to debate electronic sports

The Minister of Sports, Ana Moser, said this Tuesday (28) that the federal government will have an inter-ministerial working group to discuss electronic sports. According to her, who caused controversy by stating that eSports are not sports in an interview with UOL, a broad debate on the subject is needed.

“Historically, the Ministry of Sports has not approved eSports as a sport. This has already been discussed at the National Sports Council. This government has no defined position, we need to debate. If it is sport, culture, science and technology, if it is tourism. All electronic sport relationships that need to be organized, because it is an undeniable and very strong phenomenon in economic terms”, said Ana Moser.

The statements were given at a hearing by the Senate’s Education, Culture and Sport Commission, called for the minister to explain her plans in Sport to the senators.
