Manaus (AM) – Federal deputy Amom Mandel (Citizenship) confirmed, through social media, that he will not be a candidate for mayor of Manaus in 2024. The parliamentarian published a video on his Instagram, on Friday night (29), denying the possibility and informing that the “mission in the Chamber of Deputies has not yet ended”.

“I never officially launched myself as a candidate (for mayor) and I did that for one reason: I believe that our mission in the Chamber of Deputies has not yet ended, and there are many things I still want to do that I haven’t done. For this reason, I come here to declare, out of respect for everyone who follows me and who has made this request for me to apply, that I do not want to be a candidate and I am not a candidate for the Mayor of Manaus”,

declared Ammon Mandel.

Federal deputy from Amazonas with the most votes in the Congresso em Foco Award – he came in sixth place among federal deputies from the North Region –, in September, Amom was also recognized as the most economical parliamentarian in the Chamber of Deputies in the first semester. Although he has not confirmed his candidacy, the parliamentarian stated that he will influence the dispute.

“I want a transformation for this city and, therefore, although I do not want to be a candidate, I will influence the future of this city, walking side by side with you (voters) to decide our future and everything that must be done to improve the city, the State and the Country”, added the parliamentarian.
