Manaus (AM) – The quarter-finals of the Copa Verde begin with a well-known rivalry in the North of Brazil. This Wednesday (20), at 7pm (Manaus time), Amazonas FC and Remo-PA will face off against Amazonas-Pará for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the regional competition. The match takes place at the Baenão stadium, in Belém (PA). The return will be on Saturday (23), at Arena da Amazônia, at 6pm.
The Aurinegra delegation arrived in the capital of Pará at the beginning of this Tuesday (19). Coach Luizinho Vieira will have the main team available for this clash, after resting starters in the game against Operário, on Sunday (17), in the second round of the Amazonense Championship.
Both Amazonas and Remo entered the Copa Verde from the second phase onwards. While the Jaguar from the East Zone defeated Capital-TO, at Arena da Amazônia, 4-1 – Sassá scored two -, Remo is coming off a 3-1 victory over Trem-AP, at Baenão.
Important moment
Right-back Patric achieved an important feat: the longest series of consecutive victories in almost 700 games as a professional athlete. After the success against Maringá-PR 1-0, in Maringá (PR), in the victory that guaranteed Amazonas in the third phase of the Copa do Brasil, the player reached the mark of eight consecutive successes between Campeonato Amazonense, Copa do Brasil and Green Cup. Before the eight consecutive victories, Patric had participated in Amazonas’ draw against Princesa, that is, nine games without being defeated.
In total, Patric has 19 commitments with the Onça Pintada shirt, with 14 wins, two draws and only three defeats. During this period, he was champion of Series C and also won the first round of the 2024 Amazonense Championship.
“I am very happy with everything I have experienced in Amazonas. And this happiness gives me the motivation to continue evolving and achieving increasingly significant results for Amazonas”,
highlighted shirt 2, who remembers that Amazonas’ focus this week is on the Copa Verde.
“With each match played, Amazonas has been writing a positive story. The confidence of everyone involved in the project is that we will have a blessed year. Therefore, we are confident that we can fight for the Copa Verde title. We know the quality and tradition of Remo. However, our group is prepared for these matches and we are looking for the semi-finals”, concluded Patric, whose greatest series of successes in his career was his time at Vitória in 2017 with six consecutive victories.
