The Amazonas Public Security Secretariat reported this Tuesday (31) that it will suspend the auction that would take place on the 7th for the purchase of 18 PlayStation 5 video games, 96 bean bag chairs and 18 massage chairs that were part of a quality program for life at work.

In a note, the secretariat informed that it will carry out a new consultation with the Ministry of Justice and that it will present “a new project to equip the decompression rooms that will be destined for employees of the Civil and Military Police, Fire Department and SSP, a need for the Forces of Public Safety.”

“The objective of the project presented and approved previously was always to guarantee better quality of service to employees, with fairness and commitment in the application of public resources, whether federal or state”, he indicated.

According to the secretariat, the auction is suspended until the new project is approved by the Ministry of Justice, as the program will be executed with exclusive federal resources for this purpose.

The list of items is part of the QWL (Quality of Life at Work) Program and also includes 18 coffee machines with 12 drink selections, ping-pong tables, 18 TVs, rectangular tables, swivel chairs, cabinets and other equipment.

In the part where it mentions the video game, whose specifications are those of the PS5, the term establishes that a subscription plan is included with the availability of downloading games for a period of five years. A console with two controls costs around R$4,600.

In its justification, the secretariat says that the purchase is related to the creation of the QWL (Quality of Life at Work) Program in the “units of the state Public Security Secretariat, with the objective of promoting initiatives aimed at improving the respective work environments, health and improving the quality of the work environments of the agency’s employees.”
