The investigations cover executors, instigators and intellectual authors of the acts
The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, accepted six more requests from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) to investigate the coup actions that resulted in the depredation and destruction of the headquarters of the Three Powers, on January 8, in Brasilia.
In all, the PGR submitted seven requests to open an investigation to the STF. The objective is to systematize the investigation into four nuclei, to identify and hold responsible material executors, financiers, intellectual authors and public authorities involved.
The petitions were signed by the coordinator of the Strategic Group to Combat Anti-Democratic Acts, assistant prosecutor Carlos Frederico Santos.
At the request of the PGR, Moraes has already opened an inquiry to investigate the conduct of the governor removed from the Federal District Ibaneis Rocha (MDB) and the former secretary of Public Security of the DF, Anderson Torres. Former President Jair Bolsonaro is also being investigated on suspicion of instigating the acts.
Crimes of terrorism, criminal association, violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, coup d’état, threat and persecution are investigated, among others.
