Alesp commission asks the STJ for urgency in the Robinho case – 06/14/2023 – Panel

The Constitution and Justice Commission of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo decided this Wednesday (14) that it will send a request to the Superior Court of Justice so that the cases involving Robinho, sentenced to nine years in prison for rape in Italy, be judged with urgency.

The processes deal with the possibility of ratification of the Italian sentence and, if so, the transfer of the execution of the sentence of the former player and his friend Ricardo Falco, convicted of participating in the same crime.

“In effect, we understand that it is necessary that the referred facts be dealt with as a priority, because it is a matter related to violence against women. The delay in the judgment of these cases ends up penalizing the victim again, with impunity for the aggressors prevailing”, he says. the application presented by Deputy Thiago Auricchio (PL) to the CCJ, of which he is president.

This Wednesday (14), UOL’s report revealed audios of Robinho’s conversations with friends that served as the basis for the Italian Public Prosecutor’s Office to present the accusation of rape against the Brazilian.

In the recordings, Robinho confirms that he saw his friends having sex with the woman who accuses them of rape and talks about punching her in the face.

An Albanian woman accused Robinho, Falco, Fabio Cassis Galan, Clayton Florêncio dos Santos, Alexsandro da Silva and Rudney Gomes da Silva of having raped her on January 22, 2013 at the Sio Cafe nightclub in Milan.

At the time, Robinho was playing for Milan and denied involvement in the case. He was ultimately sentenced to nine years in prison for rape. The sentence, which confirmed the victim’s version, went through the three instances in the Italian courts, the last of them on January 19, 2022. There is no longer any appeal.
