Julio César gained notoriety after it emerged that he personally acted to try to release the Saudi jewels given to Bolsonaro that were seized at the customs at Guarulhos Airport (SP).
The auditor’s dismissal was signed by the current Federal Revenue Secretary appointed by Lula, Robinson Barreirinhas, and published in the Official Gazette (DOU) this Wednesday (14).

Julio César had tried to resign from the Revenue Service in April, amid the publication of reports on the jewelry scandal. The exoneration was even published in the DOU.
Hours after the dismissal was publicized by the press, the current head of the Revenue Service revoked the measure, claiming that he could only be dismissed after the conclusion of the investigation into his performance in the jewelry case.
Sought by the column this Wednesday, the Revenue has not yet responded. The space remains open. According to the new ordinance published in the DOU, the exoneration of Julio César is valid from May 25th.
