Vice-president Geraldo Alckmin confirmed his presence at the inauguration of a sewage treatment plant in the city of Pitangueiras (SP), in the Ribeirão Preto region, on January 19th.
The work, in the small municipality of 33 thousand inhabitants, has a special meaning for him: it was started when he was governor of the state, around a decade ago.
Even though he holds the positions of vice-president and minister of Development, Alckmin has maintained contact with São Paulo politics, frequently receiving mayors and deputies from the state. He is mentioned as a possible candidate for governor in 2026.
The vice also confirmed his presence at the National Front of Mayors event on the 4th and 5th, which will take place in Ribeirão Preto. The invitation was delivered by the city’s mayor, Duarte Nogueira (PSDB), who is vice-president of the entity.
