Alap Itinerant Session in Mazagão approves 386 proposals – News of Brazil

The Legislative Assembly of the State of Amapá (Alap), held on Thursday the 25th, in Mazagão, its second Itinerant Session of the year. The event took place at the Domingos Valente Municipal School, which had its sports court packed with people from the city and more than 200 communities in the municipality.
In the session, deputies voted and approved 386 propositions related to Mazagão. “The Legislative Assembly once again lands inland, this time in Mazagão. It is a great joy to be here as President of the House, speaking on behalf of the deputies and deputies, of our joy and satisfaction in being able to work, through the Legislative Power, to improve people’s lives”explains to Deputy Alliny Serrão (União), president of Alap.
In itinerant sessions, citizens have an easier opportunity to occupy the platform. And the topics covered are directly related to the city. “It is a beautiful attitude of the Assembly. We wouldn’t be heard as we were today if it weren’t for an action like this. We put our problems to the deputies. We ask the authorities to look after us, to visit the communities. We are there to welcome them”points out Vanete Lima, president of the Association of Residents of the Community of Anauerapucu.
Provided for in Alap’s Bylaws, the itinerant sessions can take place anywhere in the territory of Amapá. It is a mechanism that expands popular participation and brings the Legislative Power closer to the people.
With more than 20,000 inhabitants, Mazagão is part of the Metropolitan Region of Macapá, 36 km from the capital. “The feeling is one of great joy, having the Legislative Assembly part of our daily lives.
