Alaca completes one year in Amazonas and celebrates date with tributes and book exhibition

The academy has become a cultural institution that aims to reaffirm the position of Amazonian and Brazilian literature, art and culture

Manaus (AM) – On the 3rd of August, the Academy of Literature, Art and Culture of the Amazon (Alaca) completes one year of literary activities in the region. To celebrate this special date, the entity’s confreres gather at the Hotel Da Vinci, starting at 7 pm, with the inauguration of new members, tributes and a book exhibition.

To strengthen the cultivation of the language, national literature, art and culture of Brazil and the Amazon region, Alaca now has 200 immortal patrons. In this one year of activities, it has already encouraged and supported the launch of dozens of books authored by its members, a way of welcoming those who write and who dream of making books.

Creator and president of Alaca, journalist and writer Rômulo Sena celebrates this special date, reinforcing that the Academy, headquartered in Amazonas, has become a prominent cultural institution, with the role of reaffirming the valuable position of literature, art and culture. Amazonian and Brazilian culture.

“All of our nominated members are involved in these artistic strands, with published works or ongoing projects. They are professionals from different areas, many of whom are references in the literary and cultural world of the Amazon. And that have been making a difference in the actions of our entity”,

he pointed out, stressing that all patrons are effective and perpetual members, and corresponding members from Brazil and abroad.

“They will be the newest immortals of the Amazon”, points out Rômulo.

During the celebrations, new patrons will be sworn in. Among them, the rector of the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA), André Luiz Zogahib; the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at UEA, Roberto Sanches Sobrinho; in addition to the President of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/AM), Jean Cleuter Mendonça; by the writer Felipe Mafra Junior, and by the journalist and writer Cristiane Silveira.

“The new members come to add, to write many books, to do many projects, because we believe in a better future through books”,

stressed Rômulo Sena.

“Golden Feather”

That night, the “Golden Pen” Award is also scheduled to be awarded to economist Michele Aracaty, a confrere of Alaca since its foundation and who has greatly contributed to the development and recognition of this academy of literature.

The “Golden Feather”, given to other members on the last 25th of July, in celebration of Writer’s Day, is the recognition of the people who are building literature, art, culture and also supporting everything that is being developed in favor of the letters.

“It also has a great objective of adding value. Congratulations to all those awarded the ‘Golden Feather’ and to all the confreres for Alaca’s 1 year anniversary”,
