The São Paulo Junior Football Cup was of great importance in showing the potential that Amapá players have. One of the highlights of Sport Clube Macapá and the competition, number 10, Dayverson, is already in the sights of major Brazilian clubs, after his performance in the Copinha.
The midfielder was fundamental to the team’s performance, as he was the one who created plays, with his skill and speed on the field. Furthermore, he managed to score two goals in the match against Potyguar Seridoense (RN), which took the team to the second phase of the Copinha.
The president of the Amapá club, Edielson Souza, stated that the young man received several proposals from Brazilian clubs, including Series A, and will present them to the player and his family, who will have the opportunity to choose what they think is best.
“Eide (vice-president) and I stayed in São Paulo to discuss Dayverson. We are already well underway with conversations with some businesspeople and we believe that by next Monday (22) we will close. We are returning and we will talk to the athlete and his family and show the proposals of those interested”said the president.
Contact between businesspeople and Macapá’s management is confidential, but after the player’s sale is completed, the chosen club will be announced. Even playing in Macapá’s youth categories, Dayverson has already participated in the Amapaense Football Championship two years in a row (2022 and 2023).
In addition to number 10, three other players are in the sights of São Paulo clubs. “We certainly already have Dayverson, but three other players are expected to sign with clubs in São Paulo. We will gather and analyze the proposals”concluded Edison.
The EC Macapá team qualified in second place in Group 29 of the Copinha after drawing 1-1 with Vasco and Flamengo de Guarulhos and beating Potyguar, from Rio Grande do Norte, 4-0. In the second phase, the team was eliminated after losing 4-0 to Ibrachina (SP).
