Entities representing relatives of victims of the tragedy in Brumadinho (MG) are planning an event this Wednesday (25) in front of the European Parliament headquarters, in Brussels (Belgium), to mark the four years since the Vale dam landslide, which left 272 dead.

The act is promoted by the Justice is Everybody’s Business group, which brings together civil society organizations and European unions, and has the support of Misereor Gemeinsam Global Gerecht, an entity linked to the Catholic Church in Germany.

The group will carry posters with the names and photos of the victims, in addition to showing the scene with the mud that hit 26 municipalities along the Paraopeba River.

The idea is also to say that the companies involved in the tragedy did not comply with governance and social and environmental responsibility measures.

In Brazil, the Association of Relatives of Victims and People Affected by the Córrego do Feijão Mine Dam Failure will also remember the date in the city of Minas Gerais.
