Bill 5023/23 authored by Deputy Acácio Favacho requires the granting of discounts worth 80% on airline tickets for people with disabilities. The discount is exclusive to travel for medical treatment purposes and cannot be used on air taxi services.
“We know that the discount for companions is already handled by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), which already establishes the value of 80% of the value of the airline ticket for companions, however, ANAC makes no mention of a discount for the main target of the travel, the person with a disability, especially when the purpose of the trip is for medical treatment. The objective of my project is to establish this obligation clearly in Brazilian legislation”, explains the federal deputy.
The proposal defines that access to the discount will be granted through the presentation of the FREMEC and MEDIF indicating that the disabled passenger is able to travel by plane.
