Acácio Favacho awards Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, with the Lucio Costa Prize – News of Brazil

The Federal Deputy and president of the Urban Development Commission (CDU), Acácio Favacho, participated, this Wednesday 25th, in the 8th edition of the Lucio Costa Mobility, Sanitation and Housing Award.


The ceremony was held at 4:30 pm, in the Noble Hall. Launched in 2015 and awarded annually by the Chamber, the award pays tribute to the architect and urban planner Lucio Costa (1902-1998), a reference in modern Brazilian architecture and creator of the Brasilia Pilot Plan. The award includes three personalities and three entities that have developed work that improves the lives of citizens, in the areas of mobility, sanitation and housing in Brazil.

The nominations were made by the committee’s deputies, who this year also decided to award, by acclamation, the Minister of Cities, Jader Barbalho Filho, for his work at the head of the ministry, the award was presented by Deputy Acácio Favacho.

“Today, I was very happy to honor the people who are making a difference in Brazil. We have in common the desire to create a different Brazil with initiatives that change people’s lives, that’s why this award to recognize and honor these entities and people that we honored today together with the Urban Development Commission”, states.
