About 300 students attend the Ifap Games – News of Brazil

With the participation of around 300 students from on-site technical and higher education courses, the Games of the Federal Institute of Amapá (Jifap) 2023 will be held from June 26th to 30th, in Macapá and Santana. It is the institution’s largest multi-campus student event and serves as a qualifier for the regional stage of the Federal Institutes Games (JIF), when the champion athletes will qualify for the national stage of the JIF 2023.
The opening ceremony will be held on Monday (26), at 6 pm, in the multi-sports gymnasium on Campus Macapá, with the parade of delegations from the Laranjal do Jari, Macapá Oiapoque, Pedra Branca, Porto Grande and Santana campuses, presentation of the marching band by Ifap, which will play the National, Amapá and Ifap anthems, and cultural presentations, such as by Grupo Recriarte, from Campus Laranjal do Jari.
During the week, in the three shifts, the following collective and individual sports will be played in the Male and Female categories – Athletics, Judo, Swimming, Table Tennis, Chess, Basketball, Futsal, Handball, Volleyball and Beach Volleyball. The competitions will be carried out in accordance with the official rules of the international and state federations and the Brazilian confederation of each modality.
The disputes will take place in the multi-sports gymnasium and on the sand court on Campus Macapá, on the sports court on Campus Santana, on the athletics track and in the swimming pool at Campus Marco Zero of the Federal University of Amapá (Unifap).
“We have good expectations, as it will be the second edition after the pandemic period. We plan to serve more than 300 students from all Ifap campuses. The winners will go to the regional stage, which will take place in Manaus-AM, and there the best from the North will be classified for the national JIF, which will take place in the city of Fortaleza-CE, hosted by the Federal Institute of Ceará”, says one of the organizers of JIFAP 2023, Dennys Conceição, professor of Physical Education at Campus Porto Grande.
Participation rules
Each Ifap campus is responsible for registering teams or athletes in the modalities. The address of the registration form will be disclosed by the heads of delegation of each campus, addressed to the students/athletes so that they can register. After the registration deadline, the system will only be available for access by representatives of each campus for the final confirmation of students/athletes in the modalities.
Only students up to the age of 19 will be allowed to participate in the year of the competition (born from the year 2004). The participation of distance learning (EAD), Initial and Continuing Training (FIC) and Youth and Adult Education Program (Proeja) students is prohibited.
The student can only participate in a maximum of two collective sports and two individual sports. The organization is not responsible for the coincidence of competition schedules, whether collective or individual, as a result of student participation in more than one modality. Documentation proving graduation for judo must be presented at the time of accreditation.
