The Government of Amapá announced during the week the construction of a monument and a park that will be built on Rodovia do Centenário, in Macapá, handed over to the population in December last year. In the project adjustment phase, in partnership with the Ministry of Development and Regional Integration, the initiative has the final details to tender and then move towards the construction of these structures that will provide another leisure area for the region.

The works already have resources raised through the Ministries of Integration and Tourism. Participating in a meeting with Governor Clécio Luís and Minister Waldez Góes was the Secretary of Infrastructure, David Covre, and his team, as well as the Secretary of Transport, Valdinei Amanajás; the Secretary of Planning, Lucas Abrahao; the president of the Assembly of God – A Pioneira no Amapá, pastor Iaci Pelaes; and federal deputy, Josenildo Abrantes.

“Architect Alberto Oliveira de Macedo Júnior, from the Assembly of God Church, presented us with details of the project that will be carried out with resources from the Ministry of Tourism, guaranteed by Minister Celso Sabino, who responded to our request to make this important urban work possible for the people of Macapá. This is yet another demonstration of President Lula’s government’s commitment to promoting regional development”said Minister Waldez Góes.

The Centenário Highway, which was previously called North-South, was inaugurated in December 2023. This is one of the largest urban mobility projects in the state, enabling the integration of the North Zone with the West Zone. The road is 7 kilometers long and is part of the Metropolitan Arch of Integration, formed by the Duca Serra Highway, BR-210, Metropolitan Region, and North, West, South and Center Zones of Macapá.
