According to a survey by Genial/Quaest released this Sunday (7), 89% of those interviewed disapprove of the attacks on the headquarters of the Three Powers that marked January 8th. Only 6% say they approve of what happened.

In the previous Quaest survey, disapproval towards January 8 was greater, with 94% of Brazilians, while 4% approved and 2% did not know how to respond.

2,012 people were interviewed, in person, between December 14th and 18th, 2023. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.2 percentage points. The research confidence level is 95%.

According to the survey, 47% of those interviewed believe that former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) had some type of influence on January 8; 43% disagree. Another 10% did not know or did not answer the question.

In the Northeast, 57% said they saw influence, while 33% said they did not. In the South, 52% said they did not see Bolsonaro’s influence, while 39% said yes.

For 51% of those interviewed, those participating in the invasion are radicals and do not represent Bolsonaro’s voters; For 37%, the invaders represent the former president’s electorate. Another 13% did not know or did not answer the question.
