Zapping, a new streaming platform, closes an agreement to broadcast the Brazilian Series C – 04/12/2024 – Sports

A new live channel streaming platform available in the Brazilian market, Zapping signed an agreement with the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) to broadcast Series C of the Brazilian Championship this season.

In total, 65 matches will be shown on the Zapping Sports channel, which will be officially launched on the 20th. Three games will be broadcast per round, two of which will be exclusively broadcast.

Just like last year, Nosso Futebol and DAZN will continue to show games from the Third National Division.

“In addition to the broadcasts, we will have content showing all the details in the form of best moments, competition highlights and information pills throughout the week”, says Chico Vargas, Head of Zapping Sports.

Series C will be played by 20 clubs, with the same system as in recent years: first phase with everyone against everyone in a single round, and eight teams qualifying for the phase that is worth access to Series B.

The eight classified for the final phase will be divided into two groups with four participants in each, who will play against each other in turn and return. The best two in each group move up to the Second Division. The best two from each bracket decide the title.

For now, the CBF has not yet detailed the games in the first round. The entity should distribute around R$26 million in prizes to participating clubs.

According to Daniel Mielzynski, Head Of Ad Sales at Zapping, the agreement is the first in a series that the platform is negotiating to incorporate into its portfolio.

“Serie C will form part of our schedule of important Brazilian football events, bringing visibility and relevance to teams, fans and sponsors”, says Daniel.

Also present in Chile and Peru, Zapping arrived in the country in 2023, betting on live sports broadcasts, such as the Handball World Cup at the end of 2023, a competition for which the platform has the rights for the next editions in the women’s and masculine.

The digital subscription platform sells packages with channels that are available on pay TV, as well as other services, such as Premiere, which is part of Grupo Globo.
