YouTube deletes Monark channels with millions of followers

Digital influencer Bruno Monteiro Aiub, known as Monark, announced this Thursday (4) that his video channels had been “permanently” deleted from YouTube.

“Youtube has just permanently deleted all my channels, it wasn’t enough to ban them from Brazil, they want to erase my existence”, he wrote on X network (formerly Twitter).

Monark had already been demonetized by the platform in February 2022 and maintained the channel with more than 3 million subscribers, despite having been banned from social media by order of the president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes.

In a note sent to People’s Gazette, YouTube reported that the channel was removed for not following the guidelines and violating the platform’s policies. However, the fact or event that led to the cancellation was not mentioned.

“All YouTube creators need to follow our Community Guidelines and, where applicable, our Monetization Policies. After careful analysis of these channels, we found violations of our policies and therefore the channels were removed.”YouTube wrote.

A People’s Gazette He tried to contact the influencer to find out his position on the cancellation of the channels, but has not yet received a response. The space remains open for updating.

The influencer moved to the United States at the end of September 2023 after becoming the target of Moraes for criticizing the polls and last year’s electoral process, and of the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, for calling him “fat ”. At the end of December, the court suspended the criminal action filed by Dino against the influencer for alleged crimes of insult and defamation.

When confirming the move to the USA, in September, Monark said that “Brazil has become a dictatorship of the Judiciary” and that he feared for his life as he was “politically persecuted”.
