Sebrae’s initiative, carried out through the Ideias de Futuro Institute, reaches its second edition with three major new features: students from secondary and primary education, professional courses and higher education will be able to participate. In addition, there will be state and regional stages and students will be awarded prizes in all of them.

Considered one of the largest educational entrepreneurship competitions in Brazil, the Young League Challenge was launched this Tuesday (19), and registration is now open. The second edition of the Challenge, carried out by Sebrae and the Ideias de Futuro Institute, will include projects by young people from Elementary, Secondary, Professional and Higher Education interested in developing skills in creativity, innovation, planning, leadership, among other skills provided for in the National Base Common Curricular (BNCC).

Throughout the year, the Liga Jovem Challenge will promote a training trail with in-person and online activities, which include lectures, workshops and mentoring sessions combined with educational content on topics related to innovation and entrepreneurship with technology.

The idea is that this training supports the creation of solutions to problems faced by schools and/or communities, where students are inserted, involving analog and digital technology, such as applications, websites, electronic games, social networks, platforms or other technologies.

At the end of the process, all participants will receive a certificate of course completion. Furthermore, the best projects will be rewarded with the delivery of smartphones, notebooks, tablets and purchase vouchers, as well as participation in national and international technical missions.

In the first edition, the Young League Challenge had the participation of 1,239 registered teams made up of more than 5 thousand students, with representatives from 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District. This year, the initiative expanded the scope of categories covered, incorporating professional and higher education.

Interested parties must come together in teams made up of two to five members, always with the support of a mentor teacher, and fill out the electronic form available on the Desafio Liga Jovem website. They must indicate which category they will participate in: elementary, secondary, professional or higher education, depending on the school stage they are attending.

After selective stages, the six best teams per category (4 in total), in each unit of the Federation, will compete in the state stage. The winners (four teams from each category) will proceed to the regional stage, from where the 20 teams that will compete in the national stage will emerge, to be held in person at the end of 2024. One national winner will emerge from each category.

For the president of Sebrae, Décio, the objective of the Challenge is to promote the development of entrepreneurial skills.

“Knowledge is essential for entrepreneurship to be developed on a solid basis. Today, entrepreneurship is synonymous with opportunity and job creation. This initiative allows students to be able to think about entrepreneurship as a real possibility. It is known that nowadays the tendency is to generate business and not the reality of traditional employment, as it once was”,

said the president of Sebrae Nacional, Décio Lima.

The founder of Instituto Ideias de Futuro Jaciara Cruz points out that “the initiative is an opportunity for young people to develop professional experience and project development without barriers, without prior knowledge of technology, entrepreneurship and without a selection process. On the contrary, it is an experience that helps the student to overcome these barriers, when entering or progressing in the job market. The expansion to technologist and higher education students and the creation of 4 distinct categories (Primary, Secondary, Technical, Technologist/Higher) reaffirm that this is a latent demand of society”.

Registration for the 2024 Young League Challenge can be made here. Interested parties will have until June 7th to organize teams and fill out participation forms. The final stage is scheduled for the end of the year and the international mission for the winners will be carried out in the first half of next year.
