Worker dies during assembly of structure for September 7 in Brasilia

One worker died and three others were injured this Thursday (31) during an accident in the assembly of a structure for an event parallel to the September 7 parade. In a note, the Social Communication Secretariat (Secom) of the Presidency of the Republic lamented the death of the worker identified as Genes Gomes Coelho.
According to Secom, the four men involved in the accident worked for the company Palco Locação. The three injured were taken to the Hospital de Base, in Brasília. The accident occurred around 3:30 pm, at the height of the Metropolitan Cathedral. According to the Fire Department, they fell from a height of 13 meters, informed the portal g1.
“Employees worked on setting up the structure of an exhibition, an event parallel to the 7th of September parade. The causes of the accident will be duly investigated by the competent bodies. Secom expresses feelings of solidarity with workers and their families. And it is available to assist in whatever is necessary”, said the secretary. This Tuesday (29), the federal government announced the commemorations of the Independence of Brazil with the slogan “Democracy, sovereignty and union”.
