The case reached the Federal Supreme Court (STF) on the same day that counselor Yara Lins denounced her colleague’s offenses
Manaus (AM) – A group of women organizes a demonstration this Tuesday (10) to ask for the removal of counselor Ari Moutinho Júnior, after counselor Yara Lins, from the Amazonas Court of Auditors (TCE-AM), accused him of aggression. The protest is scheduled for 2pm, in front of TCE-AM.
The complaint was formalized, on Friday (6), Yara Lins went to the Civil Police General Station and denounced Ari Moutinho for uttering bad words and threatening, before the vote where the counselor was elected president of the control body.
At the press conference, Yara Lins reported that, before the session, she was insulted by her colleague. “There is a woman here. A woman who was cowardly attacked in the Court of Auditors, inside the plenary, before the election to destabilize me […]. I went to greet counselor Ari [Ari Moutinho]. I said: ‘good morning’, and he replied: ‘good morning, nothing, naughty, bitch [sic]bitch [sic]’”he said.
The case reached the Federal Supreme Court (STF) on the same day that the counselor denounced her colleague. In a post on social media, senator Soraya Thronicke (Podemos-MS) said that she took the matter to minister Alexandre de Moraes.
“In this week’s visit to Minister Alexandre de Moraes we also took up the case of the President of TCE-AM, Yara Lins. Political gender violence is today a public criminal action unconditional on representation and YES, it leads to jail! The Minister is very sensitive to the spread of this type of crime”,
said the counselor.
In the post shared on social media, the group demands the counselor’s removal with the hashtag #FORAARI and calls on the population to participate in the peaceful act in solidarity with women victims of gender-based violence.
