President Lula (PT) said this Tuesday (25) that he watched only part of the debut of the Brazilian women’s team in the World Cup because he was meeting with many women.
“I only watched half the time because there were a lot of women and I was only a man. I decided to limp”, he said.
The representative summoned all government ministers, the first lady, Rosângela da Silva, Janja, and the presidents of state banks to watch the game on Monday (24). Brazil won 4-0.
The statement was given during broadcast on social media. The PT’s weekly live is conducted by journalist Marcos Uchôa, who does an interview with Lula. He asked about the game:
“This joy that you cherish, you experienced a little bit yesterday with the women’s team. You gathered a bunch of women here, Janja was there, the ministers were there. Anyway, it was a joy. The 4-0 was already a good thing, a good start for us”, said the journalist.
Lula, then, revealed that he did not watch the entire match. He also took the opportunity to praise a government program: “Just to know one thing, of the 23 players who were called up, 17 receive the Bolsa Atleta.
