Without Kombinha, Sevá Cerveja opens physical space on the coast – 01/17/2024 – Full Glass

It hasn’t even been a year since heavy rains left a trail of destruction on the north coast of São Paulo, in February 2023. One of those affected, the Sevá nanobrewery, turns around in early 2024.
Last year, the brand lost part of its production as a traveling brewery, in addition to the “Kombinha”, a car it used to sell its labels on the beaches along the coast of São Sebastião. “Our beloved Kombinha was covered 100% by the flood, our beach cart was found in the river 600 meters from where it was,” owner João Piva posted at the time.
One summer later, Sevá is stronger than ever on the same north coast and opens its first physical space, 100 meters from Camburi beach.
“It was a year of a lot of work. Day and night, night and day. It was a year of rain… of losing to learn and learning to renew”, posted Piva, who opened the brewery on December 26, inside Shopping 2 Amores, but in open space.
After losing Kombinha, Piva counted on the help of other brewer friends, who opened their doors to sell their production. This was the case of Avós, in Vila Ipojuca, which made a Brejada do Bem with the labels of the coastal brewery.
According to Piva, there are eight taps in the new bar, with rotating styles, including lagers, sours stouts and, the house specialty, many IPAs. The beers are served in 350 ml and 500 ml glasses, in prices ranging from R$16 to R$34. “We also have cans available for sale, as well as branded t-shirts and caps.”
Sevá can also be found on the coast of São Paulo in some markets, restaurants, wineries and inns. For more information, just follow the house’s profile on Instagram: @sevacerveja. Piva warns that Kombinha took a vacation, but the beach cart is still traveling along the sands of the north coast.
