Inter’s first big decision will be this Sunday (26), at 6 pm, at the Beira-Rio stadium. With the expectation of the support of 35,000 fans, Mano Menezes’ team is looking for a place to decide the Campeonato Gaúcho. After the 1-1 draw in the first leg with Caxias, a new equality on the scoreboard takes the decision for the vacancy to penalties.
This Thursday, coach Mano Menezes gave a press conference after the penultimate training session before the match. Minimizing some mysteries, the coach confirmed the presence of some players who were treated as uncertainties throughout the week. Not counting the injured Renê at left-back, the young Thauan Lara will be the substitute.
In midfield, Carlos de Pena, who started on the bench in the Centenário, will start this Sunday. Mano did not confirm who will be his partner in the first role. Not counting Johnny, who is on the North American team, Matheus Dias and Baralhas fight for a spot.
“Matheus Dias is the most similar in function. Baralhas and Johnny are second midfielders. Johnny was even third. Baralhas was also used like that”, said the coach, indicating that Matheus Dias could be chosen. But he reinforced: “We need to talk so that oscillations don’t happen. One of the two will play, he (Matheus) or Baralhas, together with De Pena”.
The great mystery remains in the attack. The only one is that Pedro Henrique will not be improvised as a false 9. Thus, Luiz Adriano should be kept in the team, leaving a vacancy between Wanderson or PH. In Caxias do Sul, PH was chosen. “The team adjusted last year with Alemão. We started differently due to performance, so we returned to using the center forward. Against Caxias we will start with a center forward, yes, if I opted for Pedro Henrique it would be improvised”, he justified.
Asked if he plays Wanderson or PH, in a relaxed way, Mano replied: “Play one of the two. We did it last year, we even took turns. They have close performances. They are two team starters. They feel it, we feel it and the fans feel it .But sometimes the coach can only put one”.
Colorado must field Keiller; Busts, Vitão, Market and Thauan Lara; Matheus Dias (Baralhas), De Pena, Mauricio, Alan Patrick and Pedro Henrique (Wanderson); Luiz Adriano. The opponent, who has not lost to Colorado this year, can repeat the same lineup as the first game. With that, coach Thiago Carvalho can send the team to the field with Bruno Ferreira; Marcelo, Dirceu, Fernando and Dudu Mandai; Vini Guedes, Marciel and Peninha; Jean Dias, Diego Rosa and Eron.
