With 25th injury, Neymar reaches three seasons lost in Europe

Neymar has a long list of injuries since arriving in European football in 2013. The Brazilian will undergo surgery on his ankle and is expected to miss the rest of the season. Neymar reached the 25th injury, joining the passages through Barcelona and PSG. The survey is from the Spanish newspaper Marca, which also pointed out the removals due to mumps (2015) and Covid (2022).
In all, he missed European clubs for about three seasons. According to the newspaper, there were 105 games without the striker, and the surgery on the right ankle should increase the percentage, since the recovery is estimated between three to four months.
MAIN INJURIES
– Spine fracture in the 2014 World Cup: The injury happened in the game between Brazil and Colombia, for the quarterfinals. Neymar was sidelined for 30 days, but did not miss official commitments for Barcelona;
– Fifth metatarsal fracture: Neymar suffered the injury in PSG’s victory over Olympique Marseille in February 2018. He returned to play in May, on the eve of the World Cup in Russia;
– Ankle surgery: The number 10 injured himself on February 20, against Lille, and initially underwent conservative treatment. The club, however, announced the surgery, which could take Neymar off the field until the middle of the year.
NEYMAR’S OPTIMISM
The player manifested himself on social networks. Shortly after PSG’s statement, the star shared a photo on his Instagram profile. “I’ll be back stronger”, assured the number 10. The surgery will take place in the next few days, at the ASPETAR Hospital, in Doha, Qatar. PSG also informed in the official note.
