Parintins (AM) – Governor Wilson Lima delivered, this Monday (26), a regional products fair that will operate in the port of Parintins during the period of the city’s folk festival (368 kilometers from Manaus). He also released R$ 1.8 million in credit to farmers and highlighted increasing investments by the State to strengthen the primary sector in the municipality, the largest in the Lower Amazon region.
“These structures, we have set up in the capital and also taken to the interior. They make it possible for small farmers to bring their product here to sell directly to consumers. In addition to other actions that we have taken, such as the delivery of equipment and incentives through our line of credit”,
Wilson Lima pointed out.
Also participating in the delivery of the new fair were First Lady Taiana Lima, Lieutenant Governor Tadeu de Souza, Secretary of State for the Fund for Social Promotion and Eradication of Poverty (FPS), Kathleen Braz, and the mayor of Parintins, Bi Garcia, in addition to other authorities.
To put the space into operation, the State Government, through the Amazonas Sustainable Development Agency (ADS), allocated two 10×10 tents, in addition to 40 vests, 20 blue and 20 red. The items were delivered to 20 stallholders, including family farmers, fishermen and shrimp fishermen in the municipality. The fair is open from 8 am to 5 pm.
“We have family farming producers here selling their products to all the tourists that will arrive and to the population here in Parintins throughout this week”, said the director-president of ADS, Michelle Bessa.
Another ADS regional product fair, which is already installed in the municipality, was revitalized with the delivery of new covers and vests. The space is open daily at Praça dos Bois.
ADS, in partnership with the Amazonas Development Agency (Afeam), also benefited 11 stallholders with credit actions, with an investment of around R$ 110,000. In addition, ADS purchases products from family farming, which will be donated to needy families.
more credit
Through the Institute for Sustainable Forestry Agricultural Development of Amazonas (Idam) and Afeam, the Government of Amazonas released R$ 1.8 million in rural credit for farmers in Parintins. Idam assisted in the preparation of the 92 funding projects contemplated. Farmers also received 170 Primary Producer Cards.
“Following Governor Wilson Lima’s determination, Idam is close to rural producers and family farmers. This action shows all the commitment of the agency’s technical team”,
highlighted the director-president of the agency, Daniel Borges.
In addition, 70 families received the physical document from the Family Farming Registry (CAF), mandatory certification for producers to benefit from the public policies of the Federal and State governments.
For entities representing farmers, artisanal fishermen and extractivists, such as associations, cooperatives and colonies, a document regularization work is permanently developed by Idam, guaranteeing the digital certification of these entities that start to participate in public notices for the commercialization of what is produced in the field. From January to June this year, 12 associations were regularized. Five have already received their digital certificates and, on the 26th, another three will receive them.
Present at Governor Wilson Lima’s delivery action for the primary sector were farmers from different regions of Parintins and representatives of five entities: Association of Residents, Fishermen and Family Farmers of the Neighborhood Nossa Senhora de Lourdes do Mucambo do Arari (Ambrazel), a agrovillage located on the left bank of the Amazon River; Association of Residents of Ramal do Macurany (AMRM); Extractivist and Tourism Cooperative of Lago do Maximo (COMAFA); Associação Amigos da Vila Nogueira (AAVN); Association of Residents, Fishermen and Family Farmers of Lago do Remanso (AMPAFLAR);
