Manaus (AM) – Governor Wilson Lima signed, this Monday (30), a technical cooperation agreement with the company Eneva for the renovation and adaptation of the Agobar Garcia State School, in Silves (240 kilometers from Manaus), to become the future School of Gas and Energy Technical Training at the Amazonas Technological Education Center (Cetam). The unit will have 12 rooms, laboratories, library and should serve 1,200 students per year.

According to the governor, the offer of workforce training, through Cetam courses, is a social counterpart for the company that has made Amazonas a reference in the exploration and production of natural gas and also consolidates a new economic matrix for the state .

“I am very happy with Eneva’s willingness to comply with what we had discussed about social compensation. Of course, I’m interested in the company coming to Amazonas, making a profit and becoming viable, but my main interest is these social benefits. This is what I, as a public figure, aim to do, work to generate employment, generate income”,

highlighted Governor Wilson Lima.

Participating in the meeting with the governor at the Amazonas Government headquarters were the CEO of Eneva, Lino Cançado; the director of External Relations, Damian Popolo; the Institutional Relationship Manager, Rômulo Florentino; and the company’s Institutional Relationship for the North, Márcio Lira.

Also present were state deputy Felipe Souza, leader of the Government in the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas; and state secretaries Serafim Corrêa (Sedecti), Ronney Peixoto (Semig); Juliano Valente (Ipaam), Lúcia Carla Gama (UGI) and the CEO of Cetam, Fábio Albuquerque.

New Cetam in Silves

The unit will be the sixth in Cetam’s own building in the interior of Amazonas and the second to be delivered by the Wilson Lima government. The new space should be delivered in 2024.

The Cooperation Agreement, which also includes the company’s offer of equipment, covers the offer of the following courses by Cetam: Gas and Energy Technician; Electromechanical technician; Agriculture and Livestock technician; and Qualification in Instrumentation. These courses offered will have a minimum workload of 800 hours, completed in two semesters.

The educational unit in Silves left the management of the Department of Education and School Sports and came under the control of Cetam and has administrative and pedagogical spaces, traditional classrooms and a library, in addition to common areas.

Currently, Cetam in Silves serves 280 students divided into technical courses in Oil and Gas (45 in two classes), Occupational Safety (21), Electrical Engineering (30), Forestry (28), Nursing (36); and Professional Qualification courses in Concierge Agent (25), Administrative Assistant (25), Logistics Operations (25), Storekeeper (25) and Accounting Assistant (20).
