Why has no European club wanted Tite so far? – 06/19/2023 – Sandro Macedo

Have you, dear reader, heard of the intrepid Ange Postecoglou? How about Arne Slot? Both are technicians. The former took Catholic Celtic to the Scottish title, amen; the second was Dutch champion with Feyenoord, from Rotterdam (ah, how I miss Rotterdam).

I don’t remember an offseason as bustling with coaches as this one, which is still in its early days.

However, the “tell me what you say” around the teachers was already running wild even with the championships in progress. The agitation provoked basically by three teams: the English Chelsea and Tottenham, who were left without a place for the next Champions League, and the French-Qatari PSG, who were only French champions, which is a crisis there.

Every week there’s a new rumor involving a triple roster for some European club, and not just the super-wealthy ones. And everyone’s darling is the German Julian Nagelsmann, fired from Bayern when he was undefeated in the Champions League and still without a club (even Bayern has its Brazilian qualities).

Tottenham dated Nagelsmann, but married Postecoglou (the first guy mentioned in the text). Chelsea dated Nagelsmann, but married Mauricio Pochettino, Argentine former Tottenham and PSG. PSG, which also took a good look at Nagelsmann’s LinkedIn, looks like it’s going to close with another colleague – Luis Enrique, former Spain national team, leads the bookmaker; yes, it is possible, but rare, to leave a national team for a big club.

In a not so unlikely metaverse, Arsenal would have another horrible season (as was Tottenham’s) and Tite would be called by Edu Gaspar (now director of Arsenal) to command the Premier League team with his three Gabriels, all: Jesus and Martinelli (with Cup) and Magalhães (without Cup).

However, Tite was unlucky. Arsenal got lucky. The year was excellent, ending with an honorable second place. And nothing indicates that the current Mikel Arteta will leave the London club.

In another parallel universe, Sevilla could be an option for dear Adenor. The Spanish team, almost big, was in crisis and had already sent Jorge Sampaoli away after a disastrous campaign (or bad enough to call the attention of Flamengo, who signed him). In La Liga, he finished only in 12th place.

However, luck did not smile on Tite (again). Sevilla was champion of Serie B of the Champions League, called the Europa League (again), and the coach who arrived as a buffer is now a darling.

So which European club can give us the satisfaction of seeing dear Tite brighten up their bench? Maybe Real Madrid, CBF and Carlo Ancelotti don’t make a big barbecue right away, invite Tite (who is from Rio Grande do Sul and knows how to barbecue) and solve that? If even Luxembourg once went to Los Blancos, why not Tite?

There was no game in the Brazilian, but there was a crisis.
