The national president of Podemos, Federal Deputy Renata Abreu (SP), said this Tuesday (6) that the party continues with a precautionary action at the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to try to reestablish the mandate of the impeached deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos -PR). The caption also filed a complaint to try to guarantee the place of Podemos in the substitute. The substitute vacancy, currently, went to a PL parliamentarian.

Renata Abreu also said that it makes no sense for the Board of Directors of the Chamber to be a “mere ratification of a judicial decision”. Earlier, the Bureau confirmed Dallagnol’s impeachment, determined by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). In May, the Electoral Court unanimously revoked the mandate of the former Lava Jato prosecutor.

“The internal regulation of the Chamber provides for the contradictory and ample defense. So, it would not make sense for the internal regulations to guarantee a broad defense, if the Board was merely homologating a judicial decision”, said Abreu after the Board’s decision.

The parliamentarian also commented on the unanimity reached in the TSE for the impeachment of Dallagnol, she stated that she knew that “there would be a lot of pressure to move towards unanimity” of the decision. However, she did not specify what form of pressure would be applied to the Court.
