Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández condemned the racist insults received by Vinícius Junior, by the Real Madrid striker, this Sunday (21) in Valencia. The coach and idol of Real’s biggest rival said he was convinced that, in these cases, “we have to stop the game and go home”.
“We professionals don’t have to put up with this kind of situation. It’s very unpleasant, I don’t see this happening in other sports. We have to say enough, stop the game and go home,” said Xavi.
“It’s time to stop all this”, said the coach, insisting that “it’s a message for the president of the League, for the president of the federation: we have to stop all this”.
“This is a question of educating people, so that they don’t go to football stadiums to insult. It is an educational question that we all have to change”, insisted the Barça coach when asked about the offenses received by Vinícius.

Valencia announced that they had identified a fan who made racist gestures. The club also claims to be analyzing all available images and “working with the greatest possible speed” to clarify the case.
“We are working in a coordinated way to confirm the identity of other possible implicated”, says the association, in a note.
